We combined the totals from our individual bar graphs to find the total number of each type of marshmellow in an entire box of Lucky Charms.

We counted each marshmellow shape, except the oats, in a portion of a fourteen ounce box of Lucky Charms.  Then we created a tally sketch graph, category sketch graph, and bar graph to show our data.  Next, we created a line plot of the number of marshmellows in our portions of Lucky Charms.

Estimation Ideas and Strategies

We estimated how many of the following shapes:  pots of gold, horse shoes, moons, hearts, clovers, shooting stars, rainbows, and balloons would be inside a box of Lucky Charms.
